Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 of 1985 in Los Angeles. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and developed a passion for sprinting in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her initial attempt, she finished second in the 200 meters race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school and subsequently signed a pro-contract with Adidas. In 2004 she enrolled in the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004's Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s which set the new world junior record. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to win the 200 meter race. In 2007, she won that title, beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three in all her events.
